Hatha yoga is one of the many practices that sits under the umbrella of ‘yoga’, and involves physical postures, or asanas. A hatha yoga practice can not only include asanas, but also meditation, pranayama (breath work), the practice of mudras (gestures) and bhandas (yogic locks in the body).
The intentions for practicing yoga can vary for each person. Some may want to move and rediscover their body; some may want to work on their flexibility, balance or strength; some may be seeking inner peace, calm or stillness; some are craving all of the above (especially with the corona-virus self-isolation!).
